MG Windsor EV ‘Commute’ Taxi Variant Launch : JSW MG Motor India ने Windsor EV का एक नया fleet-oriented variant launch किया है जिसका नाम है ‘Commute’। इसकी कीमत ₹13.49 लाख (एक्स-शोरूम) रखी गई है जो Excite trim से करीब ₹61,000 कम है। यह variant commercial customers और taxi operators को ध्यान में रखकर बनाया गया है। Windsor EV पहले से ही भारत में काफी popular है और Commute variant इस success को fleet segment तक extend करने की कोशिश है।
On-Road Cost और BaaS Option 
Haryana में Commute variant की on-road cost करीब ₹13.93 लाख बनती है जिसमें ₹13,490 TCS, ₹29,835 essential kit और ₹700 FasTag शामिल हैं। MG का Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model भी available है जिसमें battery ownership vehicle से अलग होती है। इससे initial purchase price और कम हो जाती है और battery के लिए rental plan लिया जा सकता है — fleet operators के लिए यह एक attractive financial option है।
Features — Fleet के लिए Practical Equipment
Commute variant में manual air conditioning, cruise control, tilt और telescopic steering adjustment, power windows और दोनों rows के लिए multiple USB charging ports मिलते हैं। 7-इंच digital instrument cluster retained है लेकिन higher variants का 10.1-इंच touchscreen नहीं मिलता। इसकी जगह basic infotainment system है जो USB, FM और Bluetooth connectivity support करता है।

Same Powertrain — 332 km Range बरकरार
Cost-cutting के बावजूद Commute में mechanically कोई compromise नहीं है। Same 38 kWh battery pack है जो ARAI-claimed 332 km की range देती है। Fleet operators के लिए यह range daily operations के लिए काफी sufficient है। Charging options भी unchanged हैं — 7.4 kW AC charger से full charge में करीब 7 घंटे लगते हैं। 45 kW DC fast charger से 20% से 80% तक सिर्फ 45 minutes में charge हो जाती है।
Exterior — Premium Elements बरकरार, Steel Wheels की Entry
Exterior पर MG ने कुछ premium touches बनाए रखे हैं। LED projector headlamps, flush-fitting door handles और ORVMs पर turn signals मिलते हैं। हालांकि cost cutting के लिए alloy wheels की जगह 17-inch steel wheels दिए गए हैं। Taxi और fleet use के लिए यह एक practical decision है।
